East Downland churches

The Benefice Office is now open for business!!There is still some work to complete so for the moment we will continue to man it twice a week, usually Thursday and Friday mornings. A huge thank you to the small band of people who have worked tirelessly every spare moment on it over the past 3 months  for it to be ready. In due course we aim to staff it with volunteers for five mornings a week. Please note our new telephone number is 07957 458107.

A Prayer for the Church on Mothering Sunday

Jesus, like a mother you gather your people to you; you are gentle with us as a mother with her children. Despair turns to hope through your sweet goodness; through your gentleness we find comfort in fear. Your warmth gives life to the dead, your touch makes sinners righteous. Lord Jesus, in your mercy heal us; in your love and tenderness remake us. In your compassion bring grace and forgiveness, for the beauty of heaven may your love prepare us. Amen.         Anselm (1109)

Our Mission Prayer

God of new beginnings, we pray that you will transform your church as you renew us by your love. Give us vision for the journey that we may travel light and live increasingly by faith. Inspire, enliven and empower us, so that along the Way we may be sustained by the life of Christ in ourselves, in one another and in the world. Amen

Lent Groups

As part of our Lent observance this year we will once again be running Lent Groups. These will take place on Tuesdays at 11.00am at The Glebe House, Peasemore, repeated at 8.00pm at Bussock Hill House, Winterbourne.

We will once again be basing our course on some of the material  from the Pilgrim Course to help us in this. By request we will  be looking at our part in building up the Kingdom of God - a ministry in which we all share.

 The sessions are as follows:

 Session Three - March 21st

Session Four - March 28th

In all our relationships

 Session Five - April 4th

Contending with injustice
