Trinity Sunday - 4th June 2023
Dear all
Trinity Sunday is one of the major feasts of the Christian year, and today we celebrate the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, in which God is understood to be revealed as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. No one has ever pretended that the doctrine of the Trinity is easy to understand. In fact, it is unquestionably one of the most confusing aspects of Christian theology. Whatever else we do (or do not) understand we would do well to remember this; it's all about loving relationships, and there is space for us! If the history is too distant, the theology too difficult then rest in the received witness that Jesus went back to the Father to make a space for us, and sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in and with us.
